  My Plea

Through meadows soft, come walk with me;
Through meadows soft, come walk with me
Where tumble weeds explore the moor;
Where tumble weeds explore the moor,
Come walk through soft meadows with me;
Where tumble weeds, the moor explore.

Sing in my ear your sweet love songs;
Sing in my ear your sweet love songs
With those notes of yore; we shall reach.
With those notes of yore; we shall reach;
We shall reach those sweet notes of yore
With your love songs, sing in my ear.

With wild flair, wayside flowers nod;
With wild flair, wayside flowers nod
Near the croft, in the open fields,
Near the croft, in the open fields
Wayside flowers nod with wild flair;
In the croft near the open fields;

Come walk with me, through meadows soft
In wild open fields near the croft,
Where tumble weeds explore the moor.
Those wayside flowers nod with flair
With your love songs, sing in my ear;
We shall reach the sweet notes of yore.

This poem is written in the form of the Paradelle. This style of poetry is believed to have originated in eleventh century France, but in truth, it is a parody of the Villanelle created by Billy Collins, the United States Poet Laureate. It consists of four six-line stanzas. It has a repetitive pattern of fixed words. Line AB and CD are identical with EF composed of all the words from A and C without any additions. This scheme is identical for stanzas 1-3, and the fourth stanza then takes every word from the preceding three stanzas again without any addition or alteration.

I have purposefully created this poem, “My Plea” to serve as an invitation to that special someone to share my life this second time around. Who will it be? At this point in time, I don’t know but I’m about to find out (though this may take some time) since I’m using my Profile to surf through the soft meadows of time. LOL! So here am I, searching for you but not in a desperate and needy way. Who will it be? Cheers everyone and a “hunting we all go” with God at the fore. Your Profile means a lot to me in this relationship search for comparative analysis.

  Hello Everyone,

I'm happy to be here as a Ruby member. The ambience of this place is indeed marvellous. I have been browsing this site in order to learn my way around. In short, trying to polish my navigating skills for this site. I like to read and write poetry (classical and modern genres) very much. Where in this site can members share their poems while waiting for that special someone? You have a blog for recipes and I find that to be cool. Shall be visiting there from time to time as well as the other established forums.

Sincerely
PattieDee

By the Way: Is it appropriate for me to post my website address for my poetryblog in my profile?

[Editor's Note: Yes, you may post your url within your profile in the Contact Information page on the URL link where it specifically asks for website URL. Then all members will be able to see it there. You may not post it in comments though, or forums.

Poetry: Select the POSTS tab at the top and Add An Article link, and then add your poetry there. Select the poetry topic. And then when it's approved, it will display your poetry with other member submissions. Feel free to submit as many poems as you desire.

We do not specifically havea forum for poems, but yes, you may post under the articles.

God bless,
Nannette]
