And how do you know if you have sinned? Is it a "feeling"? If you feel you can cast off God's law, then you are left with hoping you haven't sinned? Wodering if you have?

"God says;"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers" How much plainer can it get"

Using this to make a point about inter-denomination relationships is wrong. The phrase above says don't put yourself with someone who doesn't believe. Don't "mis-match" yourself. unequally yoked is just a phrase desrcibing the the simularities that exist in a relationship. Just because someone is of another denominations does NOT make them a "unbeliever". To think that would be to judge someone and that WRONG as this IS DIRECTLY STATED in the the good book. To think like this is boarder line "sef-righteous". I think everyone needs to concentrate on one thing.....believing in our God and his sacrafice for us. Giving his only son for our sins. Anything else from the book is based on interpretation. My point.....don't get lost in the details.....it will mis-guide you in your endevours.

Sincerely,
rocking4christ....from austin powers.."There is two things I hate the most...those people untolerant of other peoples cultures...........and the DUTCH!!!" Don't let this be the case in the believers world!!
Bless you all!!

I think denominational doctrines created by man are dividing. I think if we remember the Lord said there is only one way to God, and it's through Him, and that we know the plan of salvation, then everything else is pretty much open to interpretation. The safest check is if it's the Word, then it doesn't matter what name is over the door.
I take issue with those who demean another doctrine from hearsay or think they have all the answers and are so dogmatic you can't be right and they can't be wrong...but we have to remember, those people will be that way about everything in life.
I believe we will know the true Christians by the fruits of their spirit...and while we can't judge...we are to be "fruit inspectors".

On the matter of dating people with a denomination other than your own, we need to go to the Bible and to real life experience of those around us.

The Bible talks about being equally yoked, and it seems that this is much broader than being of the same religious belief. It can mean the same religion, similar ways of living the "religious belief", similar financial backgrounds, things in common, and on and on.

Sharing a similar religious belief and religious lifestyle is so important in a relationship. I see married women sit alone at church because their husband is either not a Christian or of another religious faith. I also have seen friends change their life-long beliefs in order to blend with their husband's beliefs. Then there's the matter of children and how the children will be raised.

God calls us to harmony and unity, and that needs to be considered when dating and considering marriage. There are so many things in the marriage relationship that will cause challenge and stress, and so many problems can be eliminated when the couple is of the same denomination and religious practice.

Well I think everyone has given some interesting comments in regards to dating other denominations. Yes the bible says not to be unequally yoked, however if both people are christians how is this being unequally yoked even if you are of different denominations. I would like to marry someone of my same denonoination just because it might work out better since SDA has some distinctive differences from other mainstream christian churches. But there really are not that many eligible men of my age group in my church. And there are some godly men of different denominations out there that are looking for wives and would make wonderful husbands. I just don't think that you should rule other people from other denomination out because you never know what the Lord has planned for you. If you are a Christian you should not marry a Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Morman etc because they do not believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord. Just on another note why are they so many christian denominations anyway? Well we definitely are in the right religion Christianity.
