I have never been divorced, but i am separated(its not so easy getting a divorce where i come from, people just separate and thats it)but i think i can safely ask myself what was the cause for my separation, and what can be the cause for divorce? To me it is very easy to see the faults of the other party(point the accusing finger). If only we too can look at ourselves sometimes, it would help a lot in these situations. Please don`t get me wrong, there are people who get divorced for legitimate reasons, but i think those are just a small percentage.I married a man who was several years older than i was, my eldest sister had just got married and i thought it would be "super" to get married too. Although my husband was living with a woman at that time he had shacked in with for about three years, when he convinced me to marry him i never stopped to think. I cant really say that i was naive; i was 25 at that time and he was 32. As the marriage turned into a nightmare later i blamed him for everything that went wrong. He was not phyisiocally abusive, but imotionally he was very abusive. BUT looking back now i realize that i too allowed him use me. Soon after the wedding he went straight back to his old life and i was still the other woman even though legally i was rightfully his wife, But i allowed it all to happen. In the end when i mastered some courage to leave him i still wanted to believe that he was the wrong party in everything. Marriege is a two way traffic, and like the saying goes it takes two to tango, before we separate or even divorce,if we never took the time to look at things closely before a marriege which ended up in a mess, why dont we look at ourselves too and seewhere we have gone wrong? who knows maybe we could probably clean up the mess; again who knows?
